USW: A Union for Paper Workers

Across the states we represent, more than 7,800 paper workers are a part of our union.

Our members work in box shops and facilities that are involved in packaging. They also work in specialty grades, coated and fine papers, tissue, food products and envelopes. They work as corrugator operators, die mounter/cutters, starchers, winder operators, back tenders, coater operators, boiler operators, beater room engineers and other maintenance positions.

Through their union contracts, our members have been able to achieve policies to better protect their health and safety at work, better wages and benefits than non-union shops, job protection in the event a company changes ownership and more.

Watch the video below to hear more about the benefits of having a union from a District 4 paper worker.

If you'd like to talk to someone about forming a union where you work, fill out the form and a representative from the USW will get in touch with you.
